KILL HEROES, Moving image, 2024
Drawing inspiration from Carl Jung's concept of individuation, this project delves into the complex relationship between the inner self and the external world. It reflects on the prevailing condition of modern society, characterised by a deceptive multiplicity that masks an oppressive singularity. This societal structure often leaves individuals feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, and trapped under the weight of imposed expectations, leading to a profound loss of authenticity.
Through its narrative, the project examines the collective urge to rediscover the true self, envisioning a transformative journey of inward reflection. By reconnecting with our core needs and aspirations, it seeks to illuminate a path toward psychological wholeness and integrity. The work unfolds this process of loss and rediscovery in distinct stages, with each stage symbolizing patterns of disconnection or reintegration. It mirrors the experience most of us shared, allowing each viewer to find a reflection of their own story.
